Project Name: Menzies Crt, Brunswick

Project Value:

This unassuming home tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac and backing on to beautiful parklands on the outskirts of Brunswick had a lot going for it before we arrived.

Owners Jack & Geua raising a young family saw the perfect opportunity to make this home their forever home.

SHM were engaged to help the clients gain more space and a better connection to the backyard and its beautiful aspect of the parklands.

The solution came simply with an additional living area (parent’s retreat), bedroom, ensuite, laundry stepping down with the slope of the block to the back of the home.

The works were consolidated to the rear of the home while incorporating a beautiful new kitchen and internal bricks walls to help keep the home at a moderate temperature.

SHM absolutely nailed our brief and the design features have delighted us in ways we could never have expected.
We love the line of site to the park from the end of the island bench when we eat our breakfast, the way the light stretches across our floor from the tall windows in the bathroom and laundry, the custom record shelf that is both practical and a beautiful showpiece, the warmth of our exposed brick and the cohesion created by extending the brick from inside to outside, how handsomely it sits on the block… I could go on!
