Menzie House: A Sustainable Renovation Nominated for HIA Green Smart Awards 2023

We are delighted to announce that Menzie House, one of our recent projects in Brunswick, has received a nomination for the HIA Australian Green Smart Awards 2023. This marks our second HIA nomination, having also been recognized in 2020.

Nestled in a serene cul-de-sac, Menzie House presented an exciting opportunity for us to showcase our commitment to sustainable design. When Jack and Geua, a young couple raising a family, approached us with their vision for a forever home, we were inspired.

Our mission was to create a seamless connection between the house and its enchanting backyard with parkland views. We designed an extension that included a spacious living area, a new bedroom, a modern ensuite, and a well-equipped laundry, all blending harmoniously with the natural slope of the block.

Our focus was on the rear of the house, where we unveiled a striking new kitchen, designed not only for aesthetics but also climate control. Internal brick walls now ensure a comfortable living environment throughout the year.

We are humbled by our second HIA nomination, this time in the Renovations and Additions category. While awards are not our primary motivation, these nominations reflect our commitment to craftsmanship and client satisfaction.
