Why We’ve Decided To Only Build Renovations & Extensions
SHM was founded in 2014 to build sustainable homes that have less impact on our planet, simple as that.
Over the years we’ve refined that mission and our understanding of what we do best has come to speak for itself.
We‘ve made the decision to commit ourselves to breathing life back into the outdated homes of Melbourne and creating truly sustainable homes we can all be proud of.
Sustainable Homes Melbourne are saying NO to new homes and will only be engaging in design and construction of renovations and extensions.
Over the years we’ve begun to understand that transforming these old homes is what our team is truly passionate about and what we can do better than anyone else.
There are so many Melbourne homes in dire need of some TLC.
You know the homes I’m talking about… you might live in one or know someone that does!? Those cold, dark and drafty homes that were once jewels of our great city.
Our mission is to make them jewels of our great city once more and create homes we can all be proud of.
From double fronted californian bungalows, to narrow terrace houses and even homes above shops… we’ve renovated them all.
Being a craftsmen (timber nerd) at heart and now Co-founder of SHM I love the craft of renovating and believe breathing life back into these old homes is what true sustainability is all about.
DISCLAIMER: We have nothing against new homes or new home builders and understand that there are some amazing new sustainable homes getting built. Our decision is based purely on our passion for sustainable renovations and extensions and our ability to execute them better than anyone else.
